We are pleased to report that, alongside our Head Office and Studio in Torquay, DNA now has an official presence in London. With increasing commitments in and enquiries from the capital, Jim Green, our Managing Director, has moved temporarily to London with the aim of establishing a second office. While our core creative, admin and client services teams will remain in the South West, our intention is to provide London-based clients with a dedicated team, who will be able to facilitate the management of their accounts on a more flexible and local level. We’ll keep you updated on our progress…

We are pleased to announce that our very own Chris Keeley and his lovely lady are to tie the knot this month, and as is tradition before the happy event a stag weekend was inevitable. As Chris is at his desk today, we can only assume that the usual stag japery was kept to a minimum although the fine ‘rum bags’ under his eyes suggest the alcohol wasn’t! Congratulations Chris, we will all await our wedding invites.

They say the best things come in two’s, well as stag weekends go this must be true as our merry head of client services, Richard travelled to bonny Scotland to celebrate another unrelated event of the stag variety. With the main entertainment being white water rafting and river bugging, Richard returns to us today slightly dazed and confused, sporting some fearsome bruising to numerous limbs.

Pictures coming soon…

After weeks of careful planning, our creative director, Paul Mabin and lead designer on the Ascari project, Jon Price took their carefully selected photography crew all the way to the Ascari Race Resort in sunny Spain. With Jon directing the film crew and Paul directing the stills shoot the results were outstanding, helped in part by having Darren Heath, the official photographer of the FIA on the team and our own Sarah Znideric organising the entire event from back in our Torquay offices here in blighty.

Now starts the arduous task of sifting through hundreds of photographs and many hours of film footage…. Watch this space for the results!

But please ignore the Christmas decorations in our team pic - they used an old image from previous press coverage – Smile everyone!

Presenting a brand to the outside world isn’t all glitz and glamour, but maintaining a consistent image, tone of voice and style is essential if that brand is to develop any resonance with its target audience. Acting as ‘brand guardians’ helps us to make sure that any creative material reaching the outside world – from website to brochures to vehicle livery – is not only accurate, but also meets the underlying marketing objectives. We also think they look pretty good (maybe we should offer to do a yacht in the same style)…

We are proud to be working with Exeter Swimming Club, whose member, Liam Tancock, is currently making waves in the world of backstroke. Last week, Liam brought home a gold medal from the World Short-Course Championships in Manchester. In doing so, he shattered the European, Commonwealth and British records. Liam is now set to represent Great Britain at the Beijing Olympics.

We were approached by Exeter Swimming Club with an idea for a new logo. Working alongside the club’s press officer, Kim Stead, we developed their initial ideas into a fully-fledged identity that can now be implemented across the club’s kit, bags, towels, poolside banners and all of their digital and printed media. The first outing for the new branding came in the form of a 3-metre long vinyl banner, which was spotted at the Manchester competition wishing Liam good luck for Beijing. DNA would like to second that sentiment – all the best Liam!

Although we have been personalising print for a while now, Debs has added a touch of class to how we use digital technology. The invitation she designed for Brand-Rex’s Annual VIP Customer Day at Gleneagles was printed with each recipient’s name embossed on a golf ball. The improvements we’ve seen in digital technology have revolutionised certain aspects of Direct Marketing - with virtually no compromise on print quality. That means it’s now just up to our imagination… If you think you could benefit from this sort of approach, let us know and we’ll put our thinking caps on.
